Our in-house R&D team develops more than 300 new formulas every year – from single-active supplements to complex multi-ingredient formulations, proprietary liposomal delivery systems and market-specific adaptations. Every formula is developed, tested and owned by the brand we build it for.
Noviatic is a European nutraceutical formulation partner based in Lithuania, serving supplement brands, pharmacy chains and distributors across 40+ countries.
Formulation R&D is for brands building something specific – a novel ingredient combination, a differentiated delivery format, a formulation designed for a particular market or consumer segment that no off-the-shelf product covers.
It is also the right service when you have an existing formula that needs adapting – to meet regulatory requirements in a new market, to improve bioavailability, to change format or to replace an ingredient that is no longer viable.
If you want a ready-made formula under your brand with minimal development time, private label is the faster route. If you want full custom development connected directly to production from day one, our Product Development service covers the full path from brief to shelf.
Our R&D team works across every major supplement category – vitamins and minerals, omega-3, collagen, probiotics, herbal extracts, liposomal formulations, sports nutrition, sleep support, cognitive health, children’s health and more. They develop formulas from scratch, adapt existing ones on request and track both peer-reviewed research and EU regulatory updates to make sure what we develop is commercially relevant the moment it reaches the shelf.
Formulation work at Noviatic happens inside our own facility, on our own equipment, by our own scientists. When your R&D team and your production team work in the same building, problems get caught in development – not in production.
Every custom formula developed for a specific brand belongs to that brand. We do not reuse or resell formulations.
Every project starts with a review of your brief – the target consumer, health benefit, delivery format, destination market and any specific ingredient or claim requirements.
Our R&D team assesses technical feasibility: whether the combination is achievable, whether anything creates a regulatory obstacle in your target market and whether the format you have in mind is the right one for what you are trying to deliver. If something in the brief is not workable as described, we say so and explain why before development begins.
Ingredient selection, sourcing review, compatibility testing, flavour development for the target market and regulatory checks for destination-market compliance are all part of this stage.
We build for production from the start – every formula uses ingredients we can actually source from our qualified supplier network, in a format that will perform on our production line, to a specification the finished product can hold across its full shelf life.
Before full production, a pilot batch is available to let you evaluate the product in its actual form and confirm it performs as expected before committing to scale. If adjustments are needed, the R&D team works through them and confirms whether further testing or an additional pilot is required before scale-up. Availability and conditions are confirmed during the quote process.
Once the pilot is confirmed, the formula moves into full production. The R&D team stays connected through the first production runs – not handed off to a separate team with no context on how the formula was built.
For categories where bioavailability is the primary challenge, we offer Miosol™ – our patented liposomal delivery system, developed and manufactured entirely in-house. It improves bioavailability by up to 6x compared with a standard supplement and is available exclusively to the brands we produce for.
Most commonly applied in formulations:
Liquid: Curcumin; B12; D3+K2; D3; Ferrum; Lactoferrin.
Capsules: Ferrum; Quercetin + Vit C; Q10 +; Vit C; Glutathione; Resveratrol; Vitamin C; Vitamin D; Magnesium; Zinc.
Not the right choice for every formula – we will tell you upfront whether it adds genuine value to yours.
13,000 m² of GMP, HACCP, GDP, IFS and ISO-certified manufacturing space across two facilities in Lithuania. The same team that develops your formula produces it. Over 20 million units manufactured annually. Part of the Valentis group – operating without interruption since 1919.
A brief. That can be as simple as a target consumer, a health benefit, a preferred format and a destination market. The more specific your starting point, the faster we can work – but we have started projects from much less than a finished specification.
It depends on formula complexity, the number of iterations required and whether novel or difficult-to-source ingredients are involved. Straightforward formulas move faster than complex ones. Your project manager confirms a realistic timeline after reviewing the brief.
Entirely in-house. Our R&D team works inside our own facility, on our own equipment. There is no external formulation partner and no gap between the team that develops your formula and the team that produces it.
You do. Custom formulas developed for a specific brand belong to that brand. We do not reuse, resell or retain rights to client formulations. Ownership is documented before development begins.
Yes. If you have a formula that needs adjustments – ingredient levels, format, flavour or regulatory modifications for a new market – our R&D team can take that brief. Depending on the scope of changes, it may require reformulation, re-testing or a new pilot batch. Your project manager advises on what is needed and the timeline impact.
A pilot batch is a smaller production run that lets you evaluate the product before committing to full scale. For new custom formulas, it’s a standard step that confirms the formula performs as expected before scaling up. It’s especially important for products you taste or smell – liquids, powders and sprays. In some cases we also run an internal pilot batch to confirm the product will produce correctly; if we see this is needed, we’ll let you know. Availability and conditions are confirmed during the quote process.
Yes, if the formula and format are suitable. Miosol™ is most commonly applied in liquid formulations for nutrients with low natural absorption – ferrum, glutathione, CoQ10, curcumin, D3, K2 and B12. Suitability is assessed during the formulation stage.
We provide the documents, certificates and technical information your target market requires for registration. Country-specific regulatory requirements are built into the formulation process. For specific markets – Germany, the Nordics, Spain – our team can advise on what is needed before you commit to a formula.
