Why shot format manufacturing is harder than it looks?
A functional shot has to deliver an active dose in a small volume, hold its flavour and stability across shelf life and pass the same microbial and oxidation controls as any other liquid format. It also has to be something a consumer is willing to drink in one go – and that last part is easy to forget when you’re focused on the formulation.
Dosage precision matters more in a 10 ml shot than in a 200 ml bottle – the margin for error in fill volume is tighter. Flavour masking is a real formulation challenge when active ingredients are concentrated into a small serving. And shelf-stable shots with sensitive actives – collagen, probiotics, certain botanicals – require formulation work most manufacturers skip past.
Our R&D team builds these constraints into the formula from the start, not after a pilot batch fails.
Every shot batch is tested before it ships
Heavy metals, microbial count, potency, identity and allergens tested on every production run. Not every test applies to every product; what’s required is agreed with you upfront and confirmed in the specification.
Each batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis signed by our QC team. Retention samples held for a minimum of 12 months. Traceability runs from finished product back to raw material lot and country of origin.

Can shots include Miosol™ liposomal technology?
Yes, where the formula and actives are suitable. Miosol™ is most often applied to ferrum, glutathione, CoQ10 and curcumin in liquid formats, including shots. Suitability is assessed during formulation.
How long does a shot production run take?
Approximately 10–12 weeks from purchase order for an existing formulation. Custom formulation adds development time on top – confirmed per project once we review your brief.
What testing applies to shot formulas specifically?
The same full testing stack as our other liquid formats: heavy metals, microbial count, potency, identity and allergens. Formulas containing omega-3 or oil-based actives are additionally tested for oxidation.
