Not all immunity supplements are built the same way
The immunity supplement category splits into two consumer groups – and brands that understand this distinction build better products.
Daily maintenance formulas – lower-dose, multi-ingredient products designed for year-round daily use. The pharmacy staple: vitamin C and zinc in a tablet, a daily B-complex with added antioxidants, or a multi-botanical capsule. High volume, consistent demand regardless of season.
Acute-onset formats – higher-dose, fast-use products positioned for the moment a consumer feels something coming on. Immunity shots, throat sprays. The consumer reaching for these is looking for something they can take immediately, in a format that feels decisive. These are the products that spike in autumn and winter and drive impulse purchase at pharmacy checkout.
Acute-onset products live and die by timing: a shot or spray that isn’t on shelf by early autumn misses most of the season’s demand, so the production timeline has to be planned backward from your launch window – pilot batch, stability testing and full-scale production scheduled well ahead of it.

What goes into immunity formulas?
Vitamin C – the most-used ingredient in immunity supplements across European retail. Available in multiple forms including ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, calcium ascorbate and acerola-derived vitamin C.
Zinc – almost always paired with vitamin C in combination immunity formulas. Form matters – zinc citrate, zinc gluconate and zinc bisglycinate are the most commonly specified.
Elderberry – one of the most-requested botanical extracts in immunity formulas across pharmacy and DTC channels.
Acerola – a natural source of vitamin C, used in formulas where a plant-derived vitamin C claim is part of the positioning.
Beta-glucans – derived from yeast or oats, included in immunity formulas targeting immune system modulation positioning.
Echinacea – one of the most established botanicals in the European immunity supplement market. Typically used as a standardised extract.
Propolis – included in immunity and throat formulas, particularly in spray and lozenge formats.
Vitamin D3 – increasingly included in immunity combination formulas, particularly for autumn and winter positioning.
Selenium – a standard trace mineral in multi-ingredient immunity blends.

Capsules – the default format for daily immunity supplements. Botanical extracts, zinc combinations and multi-ingredient blends. Hard shell and vegan HPMC both available.
Tablets – suited to vitamin C and zinc formulas at scale.
Immunity shots – 10 ml, 25 ml and 60 ml liquid shots with vitamin C, zinc, elderberry, acerola and beta-glucans. One of the fastest-growing formats for acute-onset immunity positioning in European pharmacy and health retail.
Throat sprays – propolis, echinacea and botanical extracts in spray format. Suited to both daily and acute-onset positioning. Convenient, no water required, strong pharmacy shelf presence.
Powders – sachets and stick packs for brands building a daily wellness drink or high-dose vitamin C product. Flavoured options available.

Daily supplements are lower-dose formulas designed for year-round consistent use – typically tablets or capsules with vitamin C, zinc and botanicals. Acute-onset products are higher-dose, fast-use formats – shots, sprays – designed for the moment a consumer feels they need immediate support. The formulation, dose and format differ between the two. Most brands that build seriously in this category carry both.
Can you produce immunity shots?

Yes. Our library includes tested formulas across capsules, tablets, shots and sprays, powders. Most can be adjusted on dose, botanical combination or format before the production run.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is confirmed per project during the quote and varies by format and formula complexity. Pilot batches are available for new formulations.
How long does a production run take?
Approximately 11–13 weeks from purchase order for an existing or private label formula. Custom formulation adds time – confirmed per project.
