Liposomal Supplement Manufacturer – Miosol™ Technology

Noviatic manufactures liposomal supplements using Miosol™, our patented liposomal delivery system, based in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania. We apply it to a specific set of actives where encapsulation earns its cost – not as a general liposomal catalogue – for supplement brands, pharmacy chains and distributors across 40+ countries.

WHAT "LIPOSOMAL" MEANS

A delivery format, not an ingredient

A liposomal vitamin or supplement is one where the active ingredient is encapsulated in a microscopic lipid carrier before it reaches the body – a step added during manufacturing, not a different version of the nutrient itself.

The point of that extra step is absorption: a standard tablet or capsule loses a meaningful share of its active to stomach acid before it’s absorbed, while a properly encapsulated formula is built to survive that journey. It’s the format, not the active, that does the work – which is why liposomal delivery helps some nutrients far more than others.

WHY THIS FORMAT EXISTS?

The absorption problem that liposomal delivery was built to solve

Most nutrients don’t have a bioavailability problem on paper. They have one in practice.

A standard supplement arrives at the stomach intact. What happens next depends on the active. Some nutrients – particularly those that are fat-soluble, sensitive to acid, or dependent on specific transport proteins – are partially or significantly degraded before they reach the small intestine, where absorption actually happens. The label claim is accurate. The delivered dose isn’t.

Liposomal encapsulation addresses this by wrapping the active in a phospholipid bilayer – the same lipid-based structure that cell membranes are made of. That carrier protects the active through the digestive environment and releases it at the absorption site, not before it. The result is more of the stated dose reaching the bloodstream.

This is why the format attracts a price premium at retail, and why it attracts scrutiny. A liposomal claim is only credible when the encapsulation is real, stable, and manufactured to a standard that holds across production batches – not just in a development lab.

WHO LIPOSOMAL SUITS?

The brands and products where liposomal delivery makes a genuine difference

Liposomal is not the right choice for every brief. For many nutrients, standard liquid, capsule or tablet delivery works perfectly well and adding encapsulation adds cost without adding meaningful benefit. We’ll say that directly if it applies to your formula.

Where it does make sense:

Brands competing on bioavailability claims. For products where absorption is the primary differentiator – not a supporting message – liposomal delivery is one of the few routes to a claim that holds up to scrutiny. A standard supplement with “high absorption” copy is marketing. A Miosol™-encapsulated formula with stability and potency data behind it is a product specification.

Actives with known absorption limitations. Glutathione, CoQ10, curcumin and ferrum are the clearest examples – nutrients with strong consumer recognition and a well-documented problem getting enough of them past digestion in standard formats. Liposomal delivery solves a real formulation problem for these actives, not a perceived one.

Premium pharmacy and specialist retail positioning. European pharmacy buyers are increasingly familiar with liposomal as a category. A GMP-certified, patented encapsulation technology – with documentation to match – supports the qualification process with buyers who ask for it.

Brands looking for a proprietary technology story. Miosol™ is available exclusively to the brands we manufacture for. It’s not available through any other manufacturer. That exclusivity is a genuine brand asset for the brands that use it.

Phospholipid preparation. The lipid carrier – typically phosphatidylcholine derived from sunflower or soy lecithin – is prepared separately. The phospholipid source, grade and concentration affect how stable the resulting liposomes are and how well they survive shelf life.

Encapsulation. The active and the phospholipid carrier are combined under controlled conditions – temperature, pressure and mechanical processing parameters that determine liposome size, uniformity and encapsulation efficiency. Smaller, more uniform liposomes generally perform better at the absorption site. This is the step that separates a genuine liposomal product from a formula that is simply labelled as one.

Encapsulation efficiency testing. The proportion of the active that has been successfully encapsulated – rather than remaining free in solution – is confirmed analytically. This number matters: it directly affects how much of the label claim is actually delivered in liposomal form.

Stability testing. Liposomes can degrade if the formulation, packaging or storage conditions aren’t right, so stability testing is strongly recommended for any new liposomal formula. At your request, we arrange real-time and accelerated testing to assess quality, potency and stability over the intended shelf life. Scope, duration and cost are agreed separately for each project.

Batch release. Potency, identity, encapsulation efficiency, microbial count and heavy metals – all confirmed before a Certificate of Analysis is issued and the batch is cleared for shipment. Not every test applies to every product; what’s required is agreed with you upfront and confirmed in the specification.

HOW LIPOSOMAL MANUFACTURING WORKS?

What actually happens during Miosol™ encapsulation?

Liposomal manufacturing is not a blending step. It is a separate production process that sits between formulation and filling – and it is where most manufacturers who claim to produce liposomal supplements fall short.

Active preparation. The active ingredient is prepared in solution at a defined concentration. Purity, potency and physical characteristics are confirmed before encapsulation begins – the quality of what goes in determines the quality of what comes out.

WHAT WE PRODUCE IN LIPOSOMAL FORM?

A defined list of actives. Not a general liposomal catalogue.

Miosol™ is reserved for actives where encapsulation earns its cost – low natural bioavailability, or stability problems in standard delivery. We currently produce liposomal formulations for:

Ferrum (iron) – one of the most common Miosol™ applications, for brands targeting deficiency support without the GI discomfort standard iron formats can cause.

Glutathione – notoriously low absorption in standard formats, a frequent driver for brands choosing liposomal delivery in the first place.

CoQ10 – poorly absorbed on its own. Liposomal delivery is one of the few formats that meaningfully changes that.

Curcumin – same story as CoQ10: a well-known active that underdelivers without help getting past the gut.

Vitamin D3, K2 and B12 – light- and oxygen-sensitive compounds where liposomal encapsulation supports stability as much as absorption.

Lactoferrin – a protein active that degrades significantly in the digestive tract under standard delivery. Liposomal encapsulation protects it through to absorption.

Resveratrol – high interest, low bioavailability in standard formats. Liposomal delivery is one of the few routes that makes the effective dose achievable.

Magnesium – selected forms of magnesium are well-suited to liposomal delivery for brands where GI tolerance and absorption rate are the primary formulation concerns. Only capsule form.

Zinc – liposomal zinc is a fit for brands targeting premium positioning or consumer segments where absorption efficiency is part of the product story. Only capsule form.

Common questions

What brands ask us about liposomal manufacturing?

Do you manufacture liposomal vitamin C?

No. It’s not one of the actives we currently apply Miosol™ to. We focus the technology on ferrum, glutathione, CoQ10, curcumin, D3, K2 and B12, where it makes a measurable difference.

Possibly – share the brief and we’ll assess feasibility. Some actives don’t benefit enough from encapsulation to justify the added cost, and we’ll tell you that directly rather than quote a formula that doesn’t serve the product. If there’s a fit, we can work from an existing private label formula or develop a custom formulation from brief.

Only through Noviatic. It’s developed and owned entirely in-house and isn’t licensed to or sourced through any third party.

Most often liquid or capsules. Other formats are assessed during formulation depending on the active and the brief.

Yes. We have existing liposomal formulas across both liquid and capsule formats. Share your brief and we’ll confirm what’s available and whether it can be adapted to fit your brand.

The testing programme for each batch is defined by the product type, the formulation and the regulatory requirements of your target market. Depending on the product, this can include heavy metals, microbial count, potency, identity, allergen screening and – for oil-based products – oxidation testing. Not every test applies to every product; we agree what’s required upfront and confirm it in the specification.

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis signed by our QC team. Retention samples are kept for a minimum of 12 months, so any question that arises after delivery can be investigated against the original material.
