WHAT WE PRODUCE

Tablet formats across the categories that use them most

Multivitamins and minerals – single-actives and complex daily formulas, the highest-volume category in tablet production.

Beauty and collagen – hair, skin and nail formulas combining collagen, biotin, zinc and antioxidants in compressed tablet form.

Bones and joints – calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3, K2, glucosamine and chondroitin formulas, often higher-dose and multilayer to fit several actives into one tablet.

Energy and active lifestyle – vitamin, mineral and adaptogen blends formulated for sports nutrition and daily vitality positioning.

Men’s and women’s health – hormonal balance, libido and daily micronutrient formulas in tablet form.

Immunity – vitamin C, zinc, elderberry, acerola, beta-glucans, echinacea and propolis formulas, in daily-use or higher-dose tablet form.

Neuro and memory – cognitive support formulas with bacopa, ginseng, magnesium, B vitamins, zinc and botanical adaptogens, suited to focus and mental performance positioning.

Children’s vitamins – multivitamin and immunity-support tablets, formulated with age-appropriate actives and dosing.

TABLET TYPES

Three tablet formats – choose the right one for your brief

Standard compressed

Multilayer

Coated

What it is

A single-layer compressed tablet

Two or more distinct layers compressed together

A standard or multilayer tablet with  coating applied

Best for

Single-active or straightforward multivitamin formulas

Formulas with actives that shouldn’t mix, or staged release

Masking taste or odour, controlling release timing, easy swallowing or a premium finish

Why brands choose it

Lowest unit cost at scale – high-speed compression with no extra processing step

Lets you combine actives that are chemically incompatible in one tablet

A pharmaceutical-grade finish that protects the tablet, more easy to swallow, brand specific style – colour not just dresses it up

For chewable tablets see our dedicated Chewables page. For film-coated formats specifically, see Coated Tablets.

WHY TABLET FORMAT

When tablets are the right choice for your product?

Tablets are the most cost-efficient solid dosage form at scale, particularly for single-active and standard multivitamin formulas where high-speed compression keeps unit costs down. They also hold a precise, stable dose better than most other solid formats, which matters for actives where exact dosing is part of the product claim. That precision is backed by the same batch documentation and in-process testing we run on every format – so “exact dose” isn’t just a property of the tablet, it’s something every batch is checked against.

That efficiency comes at a cost in formulation flexibility. Some actives – strong-tasting botanicals, certain minerals, large-volume fills – are harder to compress into a tablet than to fill into a capsule. Our R&D team will tell you upfront if your formula is better suited to capsules or another format before you commit to development. For most multivitamin and single-active formulas, though, that’s not a real constraint – tablets remain the default for good reason.

Common questions

What brands ask us about tablet manufacturing?

What is the difference between a standard and multilayer tablet?

A standard tablet is a single compressed layer. A multilayer tablet has two or more distinct layers compressed together – used when actives need to be kept separate within the same tablet, for example to avoid chemical interaction or to stage release.

Yes – film-coated tablets are covered on our dedicated [Coated Tablets] page, including when coating is the right choice for your formula.

Yes – chewables are covered on our dedicated [Chewables] page.

Yes. Our private label library includes tested tablet formulas across most major categories. Most can be adjusted – dose, flavour, layer configuration – to fit your brand.

MOQ varies by shell type and fill complexity and is confirmed during the quote, typically from around 300,000 tablets. Pilot batches are available for new formulations – your project manager can confirm the details for your specific case.

Approximately 10–12 weeks from purchase order for an existing formulation. Custom formulation adds development time – confirmed per project once we review your brief.

The same full testing stack as our other formats: heavy metals, microbial count, potency, identity and allergens. Not every test applies to every product; what’s required is agreed with you upfront and confirmed in the specification.
